I've always wanted a cat. From being really young, my house has been home to multiple dogs, birds and for a short while we had a hamster, but I was never allowed a cat. My dad hated them and refused to let me get one. His excuse was always 'you have a bird, a cat would eat it.' I've never asked for a pet bird. You can't cuddle a pet bird! So that seemed to be it. I was never getting a cat.
I'm now 20. I'm still living at home and cat-less (despite many hours of bargaining) but there is a kitten in my life!
My boyfriend recently rescued an abandoned 5 week old kitten who we've named Akira. She's the cutest little creature I've ever met and so much better than any bird! She's currently asleep next to me and she snores!
I've spent 2 weeks at my boyfriend's, cuddling and playing with Akira and now I have to go home. I'm not sure who I'll miss most (I'm joking - the cat wins every time!)
I'll include a few pictures, most of them she's asleep on because that's the only time she's still enough to get a good photo! It's only taken 15 years for there to be a cat in my life, but she's definitely been worth the wait!
